Vegan Lovliness
AH! So your checking out the veggie and vegan page huh?
Well we suppose youd like to know more about the whys, wheres, whats and hows about goin veggie or vegan then?
We would be glad to fill ya in!
Its all quite simple really. If you love animals, care about the planet & your health then veggie or vegan is the way to go!
How can anyone say I love animals when they sit down everynight to chow down on a hunk of dead pig flesh?
Frankly, Meat is murder. Ugly, cruel, cold-blooded murder!
Hello I'm.....
Vegan!
Okay, so in our book of Animal rights we spotted the difference between a veggie and a vegan. So you got that, right?
So why go veggie?
Animals die in the millions in the anticipation that they would be eaten by YOU. Heart disease, Obesity, Cancer & Bowel problems are connected to eating meat. The environment sufferes by the constant rearing of animals for human consumption.
and causes global warming.
Another question you should ask yourself is "why do humans get heart dis-ease and true carnivores do not?"
It lies in the cholesterol present in the flesh. As humans our liver creates adequate amounts of cholesterol for life, So we do not need a dietary intake of it, when humans consume flesh they are eating cholesterol, they are eating the shit that was pumped into them. This is why humans get heart disease.
People often argue that we are who we are because we are superior. Humans are only superior when they have a gun. Take away the gun and their clothes and throw them into the amazon jungle and human superiority has gone.
But what if vegetarians are wrong about the impact of meat?
If vegans and vegetarians were wrong nothing would have been lost. Animals were saved, health improved, the world got greener...what could be possibly wrong with that?
What about fish?
What about the scaly critters living in our oceans? Eat them? NO WAY! It really is a total myth that its okay for a vegetarian to eat fish, Veggies dont eat flesh, so therefore dont eat anything that has eyes or was alive!
Arent you murdering carrots?
That depends.have you seen a carrot running for its life from the vegetable section in asdas? If you have..you better ring a science lab cos your gonna be rich & famous!
Besides.we dont eat animals cos we *love them* we eat veggies cos we hate their race!
Is it really greener to be a veggie?
Hell yeah! Look at it this way,
Every time you have a burger or a sausage your supporting the meat industry, which is knocking down our pretty rainforests (killing monkey families!) everywhere so they can graze more cattle which is then shipped back to the UK with all that fuel and carbon destroying our ozone layer. Not to mention that cattle are the number one producers of methane gases!
What about being vegan? isn't milk natural?
Milk is for the calf not a human, an entirely different species. We are the only species of animal to drink milk into adulthood (freaky when you think about it!). Would you still drink milk from your mothers breast at your age? NOoo way! We wouldnt either! So why drink milk from another mothers udder? The answer lies with specism (like being racist to animals). Humans have elevated themselves above every living thing on this planet. Apart from ants we are the only species that will wage war on their own kind, and we are the only species that kill in the millions..
What about going out?...what will I eat?
A lot of new vegans and veggies worry about out. What will they eat? cant they eat out?...relax! lots of places cater for veggies AND vegans!
you will often find veggie options on every menu! But what about vegans? well, JD Wetherspoons does a great vegan curry (just ask for no naan bread,) starbucks does a fab vegan caramel cappichino just ask for soya!, most indian and chinese take-aways can do vegans alternatives-just ask! Even domino's pizza can deliever you a lovely thin crust cheeseless pizza (just pop your own dairy free chesse on) & pizza hut are very helpful when it comes to being vegan! need something quick? walkers prawn cocktail crisps are vegan, holland and barrett do vegan sos rolls and boots even has a vegan sandwhich called a 'bugsy!' still not convinced? check out eatoutvegan wales.
Ingredients to avoid....
here are some ingredients for newly fledged vegans and veggies to avoid...
Gelatine- made from boiled animal bones, ligaments and skin. In most sweets, jelly & even yoghurts.
Lecithin/E322- Fatty stuff found in nerves and other tissues, egg yolk & blood..yuck.
Lactic acid- one for the vegans, it's an acid that comes from milk.
Vitamin D3-
derived from fish oil or lanolin extract (from sheeps wool)
Quorn- great for veggies but not for Vegans, most contain egg white & milk.
Rennet- found in calves stomachs used in cheese making
shellac - a resin made from crushed bugs.
What about all the vitamins and minerals?
The vegetarian diet is proven to reduce the risk of certain cancers and helps you live longer. as long as you have a balanced, varied diet.
Don't worry about all the vitamins and minerals. Holland and barrett stock excellent vegetarian
and vegan vitamins and mineral tablets.
Watch out for c\ertain capsules made out of gelatine!
*disclaimer; we are not nutrionists , just healthy, happy vegans! :)
