The Anti-vivisectors
handbook
3.7 million Animals die every year in british laboratories for medical research.
The animals used in medical research
and Animal testing are confined to cages.
They are poisoned, mutilated, given diseases
(that are often forgien to thier bodies &
spieces) & killed.
in 2007 3,201,581 million experiments
were carried out on live animals.
By law the Home office only counts
those experiments that cause, harm,
lasting pain, suffering & distress. There has
been a shocking
14% rise in Animal experimentation
within 2009. Vivisectors are not trained
to inflict this cruelty upon Animals. It is like
going to a plumber for brain surgery.
Anethestic is never used & many 'inside'
videos have revealed shocking incidents
of disturbing cruelty. Such as beagles being
shaken into submission before multiple injections of toxic subtances.
Facts:
Many drugs passed as safe in Animals fail
in people, causing damage and death.
50 drugs on the market caused cancer in
Animals. They are allowed to be sold as it
is admitted that ' The Animal tests have little relavance'.
less than 2% of human
illnesses are ever found in the animals used
in experimentation.
90% of animal testing results are discarded
as 'useless to humans'

Some examples of 'experiments' conducted:
Researchers clipped the hair of forty beagles puppies. They put kersone-soaked gauze onto the beagles naked bodies and set fire to the gauze.
Scientists pushed fine polythene tubes into rats' brains. They then put balloons into the rats' brains and blew them up. They found that all the rats suffered brain damage.
Smoking experiments include "Cutting holes in beagles' throats through which the dogs are forced to breathe concentrated cigarette smoke for a year.
securing rabbits so they are immobile while substances are dropped into their eyes (rabbits are used because they have no tear ducts and therefore cannot relieve the stinging and pain).
Balloons made from condoms were pushed into dogs' stomachs through metal tubes and then filled with water. During the experiments the dogs', which were hung in slings, were kept awake!

Some failures of vivisection:
The drug Accutane (for acne) proved safe in animals, but caused birth defects in humans.
Zelmid, an antidepressant, was tested on rats and dogs without incident, but it caused severe neurological problems in humans. (Absurd vivisection)
Opren, an arthritis medication, killed 61 people. Over 3500 cases of severe reactions have been documented. Opren had been tested on monkeys and other animals without problems. (Absurd vivisection)
Smoking was thought to be non-carcinogenic (doesn't cause cancer) because smoking-related cancer is difficult to reproduce in lab animals. Consequently many continued to smoke and to die from cancer (Absurd vivisection)
Research on animals failed to reveal bacteria as a cause of ulcers and delayed treating ulcers with antibiotics
Flosint, an arthritis medication, was tested on rats, monkeys and dogs; all tolerated the medication well. However, in humans it caused deaths" I wonder why that is! Could it be that animals are not miniature humans.
It's NOT just medical research that is conducted on non-humans.
Everything from bleach to mascara is also tested on animals!
Thier are many MANY household names that test on animals.
